Five of Cups

This card carries a lot of weight with it. This card is a symbol of grief, sadness, mourning, and disappointment. It's possible that right now, things may not have gone as planned - as depicted by the fallen cups. Perhaps things didn't turn out the way you had wanted. It's also possible that you have experienced a loss of some kind recently.
Your mind may be living in the past right now, re-living old thoughts, asking yourself what you could have done differently.
The cup the Pixie is pouring can sometimes symbolize letting go. Letting this thing go is not easy, but you are processing through it.
The two cups sitting upright show us that better things are coming, we just haven't seen them yet. Right now it may feel dark, but things will soon start to appear brighter. When you are ready, you will move on to the next cup.

Card in Reverse:

In reverse, the Five of Cups can be a sign of recovery. You have or are currently learning acceptance. You've realized that you can't change the past, it's best to just accept that it happened and learn to move on. You've come to appreciate the lessons that new learnings that came along with the darkness, and you're now ready to put them into practice.
You've grown stronger and your emotional endurance has increased. You're ready to pick up the two upright cups and move on to new beginnings.

Upright: It's possible that you are mourning over a past love right now - be it recent or a love from a long time ago, the wounds have not healed. Try to be kind to yourself during this time.
Alternatively, if you are currently in a relationship, things just may feel tense right now. You may be asking yourself if your relationship is worth fixing or not. It's possible that something has changed and you are experiencing an emotional loss rather than a physical one. If you feel like your relationship is worth saving, it's time to work on communication. Nothing will get fixed if we remain silent.

Reverse: If you've gone through a bad relationship in the past, the Five of Cups reversed in love tells us that you are moving on. The pain from this relationship is no longer plaguing you. You've seen the lessons and learned from them, and you're ready to embrace your freedom. This chapter of your life has now come to a close and you are ready for new love.
If you are currently in a relationship, tensions should be loosening now. Whatever was troubling you is healing. Your bond is stronger and great new things are coming your way. Just remember not to dwell on the pain of the past, let go of any old resentments that have now been repaired. Look forward with your partner and don't look back.

Upright: The Five of Cups is about loss and grief. It's possible right now that you may have lost a job, a position, a partnership, or a project fell through. Or perhaps something just didn't pan out the way you had hoped. It can be hard to go through things like this. If possible, try to maintain positive relationships with co-workers, colleagues or commissioners. Connect yourself to the best parts of what you lost. Perhaps there is something that can be arranged.

Reverse: If things have been slow for you in regards to work, the Five of Cups in reverse shows us recovery. Things are starting to repair themselves and the pain that once was, is now a thing of the past. The hardships that you faced in your career have allowed you to learn and grow, and you can now realistically move towards your career goals.
